Purification of soluble human melanoma-associated antigens.
Soluble extracts of melanoma specimens were prepared by 3 M KCl extraction. Delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions to these antigens were noted in 25 of 39 melanoma patients and 7 of 30 patients with other neoplasms. Only 4 of 34 melanoma patients reacted to an extract of autologous muscle. Maximum reactivity to these antigens occurred at 24 hr and was demonstrated histologically by skin ...
متن کاملSynthetic tumor-associated glycopeptide antigens.
Glycopeptides with TN antigen (GalNAc)Ser/Thr and T-antigen structures (beta Gall-3GalNAc)Ser/Thr, described as tumor-associated antigens, were synthesized and coupled to bovine serum albumin. Alternatively, synthetic methods for the construction of beta-anomeric analogues of the TN and T-antigen glycopeptides were developed, aiming at antigenic structures having a varied stereochemistry of the...
متن کاملPurification and biochemical properties of tumor-associated transplantation antigens from methylcholanthrene-induced murine sarcomas.
A tumor-associated transplantation antigen with an apparent molecular weight of 75,000 has been isolated from the cytosol of the BALB/c methylcholanthrene-induced sarcoma, Meth A. The antigen was purified either by preparative electrophoresis in the presence of NaDodSO4 or by immunoaffinity chromatography after hexylamine agarose chromatography, gel filtration, and hydroxylapatite chromatograph...
متن کاملImmunization against endogenous retroviral tumor-associated antigens.
Endogenous retroviral gene products have been found in some human tumors, and therefore, may serve as antigens for immunotherapy approaches. The murine colorectal carcinoma CT26 and melanoma B16 have recently been found to express the endogenous retroviral gene products gp70 and p15E, respectively, that can serve as antigens recognized by T cells. To date, though, there has been no demonstratio...
متن کاملTumor Associated Carbohydrate Antigens in Targeted Therapy
Tumor associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs) are a class of glycans with important structural and signaling functions playing a major role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis relevant to oncology. Tumor cells expressing TACAs influence prognosis and survival of cancer patients. Careful consideration must be given to structural aspects during rational design of small molecule...
